Role: Business Analyst
Department: Enterprise Data Management & Reference Data
Sub Function: Product data and Market Data Commercial
Group Overview:
The Enterprise Data Management [EDM] team is involved in the maintenance of Client / Product/Market Data related requirements. The Product Data & Market Data Commercial teams are structured to support users globally for any kind of Product and Market data services requirement. The teams are responsible for maintenance of instrument static data, across all reference data systems in the organization. Also the team is responsible for user's access, permission control, inventory management, invoice payment and reconciliation. The other major activity managed by the team is the contractual negotiations with the vendor. The team is typically involved in multiple business and system related global projects.
Roles & Responsibilities
1) Co-ordinate / follow up with multiple teams within the firm, such as Operations, Finance, Risk, Legal &Compliance for requirement gathering.
2) Business analysis and documentation of artifacts such as Business Requirement Documents (BRDs), Functional Specification Documents (FSDs), Impact Assessment Documents and Root Cause Assessment Documents.
3) Active participation in global project calls.
4) Work with global EDM business leads and stakeholders effectively to deliver project goals.
5) Contribute to decision making process within the projects and escalate key risks and issues.
6) Understand the technology and operations environment in the firm.
7) Collaborate with Data Analysts, SMEs and Technology developers to translate requirements into technology builds.
8) Co-ordinate testing of application builds and data quality rules / reconciliations.
9) Work with large amounts of data and analyze them. (Preferable)
10) Profiling of data using IDQ tool. (Preferable)
Qualification, Experience & Skills
1) 3-5 years of Business Analysis experience in an Investment Banking Operations environment.
2) Solid understanding of Reference Data i.e. instruments data and related vendors, client data including counterparties, accounts and SSIs and organizational data such as Book Data.
3) Basic understanding of middle office booking and settlements flows.
4) Excellent written and verbal communication skills
5) Interpersonal, influencing & stakeholder management skills
6) Exceptional attention to detail
7) Strong MS Office (Word / Excel / Powerpoint) skills
8) Ability to multi-task and work to tight deadlines
