Federal Bank Recruitment 2009

RECRUITMENT OF CLERKS AND PROBATIONARY OFFICERS - 2009


We are on the lookout for dynamic young graduates to join us as Clerks and Probationary Officers.

Eligible Candidates are requested to apply online between 04.05.2009 and 04.06.2009 (both days inclusive) only through the Bank’s website www.federalbank.co.in. Applications other than through this mode will not be accepted.

Candidates are advised to download call letters for appearing in the written test from the website from 18.06.2009 onwards by entering their registration number and password which will be generated at the time of applying online.

2) Scale of pay and other emoluments.

Candidates selected for Clerical cadre posts will be offered pay scale of Rs.4410 - - 13210.

Candidates selected for Probationary Officer (Scale I) cadre posts will be offered pay scale of Rs.10000 - - 18240. Based on the qualification and experience of the candidates higher start in the scale of pay of officers can be offered at the discretion of the Bank.

Dearness Allowance, House Rent Allowance, City Compensatory Allowance etc will be paid as per the rules of the Bank in force from time to time depending upon the place of posting. Medical Aid, Hospitalisation Scheme, Retirement Benefits and other Perquisites will be admissible as per Bank’s rules.

On a cost-to-company basis, the monthly pay packet for Clerks and Probationary Officers including all the allowances and perquisites will be approximately Rs.16000/- and Rs.37000/- respectively subject to changes from time to time.

Graduation in any discipline from any recognised university or other institutions established by an Act of parliament or declared to be deemed as a University under Section 3 of U G C Act, 1956 with the following minimum percentage of marks.

Science : 55%

Other streams: 50%


Candidates, who are appearing for the qualifying examination in the academic year 2009 and awaiting the results, are also eligible, provided they acquire the minimum educational qualification with the prescribed marks as on 31.12.2009.

Probationary Officer

Graduation in any discipline with minimum 60% marks from any recognised university or other institutions established by an Act of parliament or declared to be deemed as a University under Section 3 of U G C Act, 1956.


Candidates, who are appearing for the qualifying examination in the academic year 2009 and awaiting the results, are also eligible, provided they acquire the minimum educational qualification with the prescribed marks as on 31.12.2009.

Note:

  • Graduation course or equivalent examination must entail a minimum of 3 years of education after completing higher secondary schooling (10+2) or equivalent. Graduation in Agriculture/ Engineering means those who have passed a 10+2+4 year course. Graduation in Law means those who have passed 10+2+5 year course in law or degree in any subject + 3 year course in Law.

  • The percentage of marks obtained by the candidate will be as per the practice followed by the University/ Institution from where the candidate has obtained the degree in graduation. In case of the candidates being awarded grades/ CGPA instead of marks, equivalence would be based on the certificate given by the University/ Institution from where they have obtained the degree in graduation. In case the University/ Institution does not have any scheme for converting CGPA into equivalent marks, the Bank would establish the equivalence by dividing obtained CGPA with the maximum possible CGPA and multiplying the resultant with 100.

  • Candidates, who are appearing for the qualifying examination in the academic year 2009 and awaiting the results, are also eligible. But their selection will be subject to the condition that they acquire the minimum stipulated qualification on or before 31.12.2009. The University should have announced the results of the qualifying examination on or before 31.12.2009 and the date in the passing certificate/ mark sheet should be on or before 31.12.2009.

  • Year wise/ semester wise mark sheet for each year/ semester in respect of the qualifying examination from the concerned University should be available. If the reverse side of the mark sheet contains the instructions/ clarifications, photocopies of both sides of the mark sheet is necessary.

  • Working knowledge of computers is essential for both the posts.

  • Candidates having minimum three years experience in Banking/Financial/Retail/ IT sector and the minimum educational qualification stipulated by the Bank can also apply for the post of Probationary Officers. There will be relaxation in the upper age limit to such candidates and candidates with age limit up to 30 years can apply for the post.

6) How to Apply

Eligible candidates are required to apply online through the Bank’s website only and no other means/ mode of application will be acceptable.

(a) Guidelines for the candidates.

  1. The candidates should have a valid email id before applying online and the same shall remain valid for the duration of the recruitment process. In case the candidate does not have a valid e-mail id, he/ she shall create a new email id before applying online.

  1. Candidates shall visit the Bank’s website www.federalbank.co.in and follow the link “careers” and download the challan for remitting the application fee.

  1. Challan No.1 should be used for remittance of application fee through any of the branches of Federal Bank and Challan No. 2 should be used for remittance of application fee through any of the branches of State Bank of India.

  1. Candidates shall fill up the challan & remit the application fee at any of the branches of Federal Bank/ State Bank of India. Thereafter, the candidates are required to apply online and mention the application fee payment particulars given in the challan in the online application form.

  1. Candidates, including SC/ ST candidates paying the fee through the branches of State Bank of India would need to pay an additional amount of Rs.50/- as service charge to State Bank of India.

  1. The payment of application fee must be made on or after the date of opening of the online registration gateway i.e. 04.05.2009 but before the close of business on 04.06.2009 i.e. close of online registration gateway. Even if the Bank extends the last date of registration due to technical reasons, the valid dates for the payment of application fee as indicated above will not be changed.

  1. After remitting the application fee, logon to our Bank’s website www.federalbank.co.in and follow the link “careers”. Then click “Recruitment of Probationary Officers and Clerks – 2009”. Then click “apply online”. The system will open online application. Fill up this online application with all the details required in the application and click “Submit” available at the bottom of the online application. A Registration Number and Password will appear immediately on the screen. Candidates are required to take printout of the online application using the above registration number and password. Candidates shall retain the printout of the online application with them until the result of the written examination is published. The printout will be required to be sent to a specified address, only if the candidate qualifies in the written examination.

  1. Candidates are required to bring to the examination centre at the time of written examination, the call letter, which can be generated by the candidates using the registration number and password obtained at the time of registration of online application. A recent passport size colour photograph shall be pasted on the call letter.

  1. Candidates should submit the bank copy of the application fee Payment Receipt Challan along with the call letter at the time of written examination, failing which the candidate will not be admitted for the written examination.
