Ola Cabs to give pink slip to its 1,400 employees

India's home grown largest cab aggregator OLA Cabs has informed that due to falling revenues and extension of lockdown amid breakout of Corona pandemic it is laying off around 1,400 of its staff on its payroll.

Ola's employees in its overseas markets such as in United Kingdom and Australia will not be affected.

Ola is offering a three month severance pay , extended health insurance worth 2 Lakhs to families of employees affected by the layoffs and career support to help find a new job outside Ola.

Not only Ola the market leader in global cab hailing services United states headquartered Uber has already laid off more than 6,000 of its employees across all its platforms.

Analysis :

It is good that Ola has been giving a three months advance pay as well as health insurance and job search support to its laid off employees which is all means highly appreciable as there has not been any kind of relaxation in the cab services to offer for the general public.

Hence the staff who had been shown the door can utilised this time to sharpen their skill as well as to get to search for their dream company or job.

Moreover, with from the month of July 2020 we can see the economy as well as job markets opening up as due to heavy migration of people to their hometown we will see the dearth in the market for the skilled people as the people working on lesser salary have already moved out of the major metropolitan cities of India and they may not be back to their job places by this year, Hence , we at Apna Jobs Blogspot urge all the severed employees that they should not get disheartened rather be focousive & sharpen their skills as they will get excellent job opportunity from July onwards.
