New and Latest Mechanism to Tackle Banking Hacks in the Works

 The government is in the process of setting up a system to secure the country's financial sector from cyber attacks after agencies pointed to its vulnerability due to the increase in number of digital transactions over the past few months on account of Covid-19, and threats form hostile countries such as China and Pakistan, three officials aware of the plans said.

At present , the Indian Computer Emergency Response Team ( Cert-In ) deals with all the types of cyber security threats but officials in teh administration have been discussing the need for a specilised agency, which could be called Cert-Fin, the officials said" The government may set up a Computer Emergency Response Team for Financial Sector ( Cert-Fin )...but a final decision is awaited as the government wants take a comprehensive view for cyber security" a second official said. A third official said cyber security  in general tops the government's agenda since it can disrupt social and political harmony and dislocate financial systems.

IFBI launches Certificate Programme in Insurance

NIIT Institute of Finance, Banking and Insurance Training Ltd (IFBI) has launched a certificate programme in insurance.

The duration of the programme is six months.

According to an NIIT IFBI release, the programme has been designed specially for SBI General Insurance.

Claiming it to be IFBI's first ever earn and learn programme, Bimal Jain, President, NIIT IFBI said the primary objective is to offer a perfect balance of theoretical and professional exposure of working in the corporate world.

The programme would offer students an opportunity to work and understand the business dynamics via a 2-day classroom plus 4-days on the job training with SBI General Insurance. The students would be assigned to a branch and an experienced mentor from SBI General Insurance would provide on-the-job training.

Successful candidates would get an opportunity to join the insurance company either in bancassurance, agent handling or direct sales roles, he said.

Skilled professionals, graduates and students who have completed Grade XII in regular mode and aged between 21 and 40 would be eligible to apply for this programme, the release said.

Tech Mahindra Launches Rozgar Card

IT services major Tech Mahidra today announced the national launch of Saral Rozgar Cards with seeking to create a common pool of jobs and job providers.

Saral Rozgar is a mobile job marketplace that helps blue collared and entry level job seekers to connect to mainstream employers anywhere in India via mobile in their own language in an affordable manner, Tech Mahindra said in a release.

It aims to provide a connect jobs seekers below graduate level and job providers, it added.

Job seekers can now easily access the service by buying the Saral Rozgar card for Rs. 50 and registering through a simple voice call, in their preferred language, by dialling 1860—180—1100 from anywhere in India,” Tech Mahindra Head Mobility Business Jagdish Mitra said.

Presently, Saral Rozgar has over 1 lakh job openings in more than 100 job categories. In Delhi and NCR region, we have more than 15,000 jobs identified in major industrial clusters of Dharuhera, Manesar, Gurgaon, Faridabad, Noida, Sahibabad and Dadri, Tech Mahindra VP Mobility VAS Product and Portfolio Vivek Chandok said.

The top job categories in demand are retail, accounting, tailor, electrician, machine operator, cooks, security guards, F&B executives, delivery boys among others, he added.

“Saral Rozgar cards will be available in more than 1 lakh point of sale outlets with telecom recharge retailers across the country,” Chandok said.

Mobile customers across the country, especially in the semi—urban and rural parts can now easily subscribe to the service by buying the job card for an affordable price of Rs. 50 and availing the service for 60 days.
